Today, the Wheaton-based Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans (http://www.helpaveteran.org/) held their 2nd Annual Golf & Grill fundraiser and Operation: Turn DuPage Blue was delighted to participate. OTDB sponsored a hole, Chair Bob Peickert led a foursome of golfers on a beautiful day and 10 of us joined a large crowd for dinner, highlighted by a full half-hour of generous raffle prize giveaways.
OTDB thanks the MSHV for a wonderful event and very much appreciates all of their vital efforts.

You are using limited resources on golfing for Bob?
First off, thank you for being responsible enough to post your question in one and only one thread, and to pick a thread where the question is actually relevant. In view of this, I decided to be nice enough to not only let the question go through moderation, but to provide an answer as well.
Unfortunately, that answer is going to have to boil down to "Huh? What the heck are you talking about?"
For the record -- or compact disc or MP3 file, since nobody listens to records anymore -- no O:TDB funds were spent to pay for people to golf. Bob and the other golfers in his team paid for their golfing out of their own money.
We did spend O:TDB funds to sponsor a hole at the event. This does not pay for anyone to golf. It does benefit the homeless veterans' shelter, and is useful public relations for us which may end up being helpful in our efforts to recruit more Democrats.
Bob's time and money, of course, are limited resources. While we at O:TDB are dedicating a great deal of time and effort to the task of recruiting Democratic committeebeings, we are not above taking time off to do things that we enjoy, especially if we can benefit a worthy cause at the same time. Your humble webmaster doesn't golf, but if ever there's a Trigon Puzzles competition in my neighborhood to raise money for charity, you can bet I'll be there.
